Our name, our belief, our mission

Our name

Our Chinese name, 悠樂長, means leisurely, happy seniors.

In Hong Kong, seniors are warmly called 老友記, which literally means old friends. It is the word we use too.

Connecting seniors and young people through technology

Our belief

In an age of fast-changing technology, we hold one simple, strong belief: technology should not push us apart. It should be a bridge between the hearts of different generations.

It can bring seniors and young people together, to build a future with no generation gap, where wisdom is shared.

Our mission

Through digital skills we help seniors find their confidence, and we look after their emotional wellbeing and their safety online. With everyone who walks alongside us, we are building a warm community that people can rely on.

Four areas of care

Everything we do belongs to one of four areas. Six services put them into practice.

Digital and safety

From first steps on a phone to everyday use: setting up accounts and managing passwords, two-step verification and cloud backup, and spotting scam links and suspicious calls. We also set up a simple way to ask family for help and give out cards for common questions. Less risk, less worry, and safe, confident habits online.

Wellbeing and inclusion

We help people recognise where stress and difficult feelings come from, practise breathing, relaxation and mindfulness, and learn the habits of good sleep. We also build support networks among peers and family. Young and old learn together, serve together and share stories, which widens friendships and a sense of belonging.

Health and fitness

Early checks such as AI-assisted retinal photography make people more aware of risks to their health. Alongside them come exercise at home and balance training, which build strength and steadiness step by step, and habits of walking and stretching. Goals and records that can be tracked help people stay steady, active and independent in daily life.
